Battle joins the Babcock Foundation Board of Directors.

LaVeeda Morgan Battle was selected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation.  The Babcock Foundation makes grants to local and regional organizations in the southeastern United States that work in areas that will help achieve the Babcock Foundation’s  mission.  The Foundation’s mission is to help move people and places out of poverty through greater social and economic justice.

Battle Appointed to Federal Judicial Selection Committee

Ms. Battle has been appointed by the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Alabama to serve on a Selection Committee for a new Magistrate Judge.   The Selection Committee will interview interested candidates and make recommendations to the District Court.  Ms. Battle has previously served on a Federal Magistrate Judge Selection Committee and facilitated the selection process for appointments by the Obama administration in Alabama .  Ms. Battle practices with the Battle Law Firm in Birmingham, Alabama.

Battle elected by Birmingham Bar to ABA House of Delegates

The Executive Committee of the Birmingham Bar Association has selected LaVeeda Morgan Battle to be the Birmingham Bar’s representative to the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association (ABA).  The House of Delegates is the policy-making body of the association. The House meets twice each year, at the ABA Annual and Midyear Meetings.  The American Bar Association is the largest voluntary professional association of lawyers in the world.

Ms. Battle is with the Battle Law Firm, in Birmingham, Alabama. She previously served on the ABA’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary, during the confirmation proceedings before the United States Senate for the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court.

Battle certified in Health Information Technology required by Affordable Care Act.

LaVeeda Morgan Battle has successfully completed Health IT Certification’s course providing an overview of developing Operating Rules for the implementation of Heath Information Technology, Electronic Health Records and Health Information Exchange under the Affordable Care Act.  This certification is the first in a series of highly regarded training programs to guide health care providers with compliance under the Affordable Care Act.  Ms. Battle is with the Battle Law Firm, in Birmingham, Alabama, and has provided orientation and training on the Affordable Care Act to lawyers, legislators, leaders, and CEO’s of health care providers in Alabama.
